Touch de Order is a simple order system with no payment functionality, designed for small-scale dining establishments and similar businesses. It was developed to provide a straightforward solution where customers can use their smartphones to scan a QR code, open the menu page, and directly place orders through a web app. While internet access is required, this system allows for efficient face-to-face order processing, potentially saving time for both customers and staff.
The ordered items can be viewed from the establishment’s terminal, such as a tablet, through a dedicated management interface. This system aims to streamline the ordering process, offering an alternative to traditional face-to-face communication. However, for those who appreciate the interpersonal aspect of taking orders, the system also includes features that utilize smartphones as handy tools.
It’s important to note that Touch de Order is not flawless. There may be instances of system errors, orders disappearing, and the potential loss of past order history. Practical testing in real-world scenarios has not been extensively conducted yet.
Despite its current limitations, and in the absence of ample opportunities for such practical testing, we have decided to release it for public use. We acknowledge that there is room for improvement, but with the hope of providing some utility, we are making the current beta version available to the public. If you find it suitable, please feel free to use it.
